Why it's essential you are there on August 15th 2018

The Weed Planning Commission will be meeting to address comments about the Draft EIR for the Proposed Love's Truck Stop on the West Side of I-5.

It's Important

Since this is an agenda item you have an opportunity to let the Weed Planning Commission know your concerns about the Draft EIR , or if you don't want to speak you can show your support for those that do speak up, it's now or never!

Some Points

• The Draft EIR did not adequetily address the noise or light pollution for nearby residents, no sound level tests were taken.

• They did not get a report from Cal Fire or Wed Fire Department about potential fire danger.

• It doesn't address the loss of property value for residents and increased homeowner insurance due to fire danger and other negative impacts.

• It doesn't consider the traffic problems for Sugar Pine Rd. and South Weed Blvd.

• It doesn't address dangers to children in the area and sex trafficking and prostitution that usually occur at Truck Stops.

• The EIR shows no clear explanation of where and how high the advertising signs will be.

• It offers an alternative site on the East side that seems to be more desirable but they do not offer a complete analysis.

Meeting

The meeting for the DEIR will be August 15th 2018 at the Weed City Hall located at 550 Weed Blvd. Weed California. Since it's an agenda item the Planning Commission needs to respond to citizens questions, it's not just a comment period.

It's important to show up and let them know their are people who do not want this Truck Stop on the West side of I-5 with all it's problems and there is strong opposition.
