Large commercial Truck Stops make BAD neighbors!
The Weed City Council is working toward placing a 17 acre Truck Stop that will service 97 trucks idling 24//7 and up 1,200 cars in a long established neighborhood with families next to a beautiful wetland.
Until recently the area was zoned for residential and light commercial, but the City Council reverted back to a 1981 zoning of large commercial WHEN THERE WERE NO HOMES LOCATED THERE to allow the property owners to court a Love's Truck Stop.
A better alternative is to put it on the East side where there is already a Pilot Truck Stop with all infrastructure and no neighborhoods or wetland meadows. Or, how about not at all and come up with a better idea for Weed rather than a Truck Stop City?
You DON"T need to be a Weed Resident to sign the petition! This involves ALL citizens who have concerns about this Truck Stop and it's location.
That's why I signed a petition to Ken Palfini, Mayor, Bob Hall, Mayor Pro Tem, Kim Greene, Council Member, Stacey Green, Council Member, Susan Tavalero, Council Member, and City of Weed Planning Commission, which says: "Stop the Loves Truck Stop development on the west side of I-5 in South Weed. The truck stop will increase noise, air and light pollution, traffic, crime, fire danger, and human trafficking. " Will you sign the petition, too?
